Description
Copper Sulfate is an inorganic compound that combines sulfur with copper as a white or off-white solid or powder with pleasant odour. It has a bright blue color in its pentahydrate form(its most common form). Industrially, it can be produced by treating copper metal with hot concentrated sulfuric acid or its oxides with dilute sulfuric acid. Its toxicity depends upon the copper content present in them. It can be used in foods as a mineral supplement, anti-caking agent and anti-microbial agent.
